Good Waves at Panama Point

Panama Point is located southeast of Arugam Bay. After you pass the Panama town, keep going straight and the road will narrow, passing a cemetery along the way. Many young soldiers who perished in the civil conflict have been laid to rest in this cemetery. Follow the dirt road 2 km from the cemetery and you will reach the beach.

This point is great for beginner and intermediate surfers. If you’re snacky, plan on bringing food to this surf spot. The nearest stores are in the town you’ll pass are on the way in, approximately 4 km from the surf point. Given its distance from Arugam Bay, Panama Point is much less crowded than some of the other surf points. Climb the various rocks to get better views.
